A student of faculty of law at the Dal Eastern-Ukrainian national university (Luhansk), master of sport Maksim Sklyar has taken the first place at the second final of the Karate World Cup, the Dal University PR Center reported.

Spokesmen for 12 countries of the world, in particular, USA, Japan, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Russia, Latvia, Armenia, took part in the contests in Odessa.

Thanks to a victory at the World Cup final, Maksim Sklyar was permitted to take part in the Third World Karate Championship. It will be held fort the first time in Ukraine on June 18-21 2009, Luhansk.proUA.com reports.

Maksim Sklyar had been winning for a few times at the Ukrainian Cups and European Championships. When Maksim won at the World Karate Cup, he confirmed his membership in the National team of Ukraine.
